COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This course Examines the motivation behind violent crimes from a Focus Theory perspective. Describes two major types of violent crime with very different motivation and goals. Shows that workplace violence, domestic violence, political assassination, school related violence, and terrorist activities, are all similarly related. Five stages of violence are examined, several landmark cases are presented, along with the essentials of a case work-up from a Focus theory/risk factor perspective, and an example case report. Both experienced clinicians and those new to the field will find considerable useful information in regard to dealing with perpetrators of non-object focused violence.
